Happy Birthday Leo 2026

The most prominent dynamic this month is the solar eclipse occurring in Leo on August 12^th. Whenever a solar eclipse occurs in our sign, we go through a low energy period for two weeks on either side of the eclipse. When this occurs, it also brings with it new patterns to acquiesce to in order to align us with our continued spiritual growth. The low energy period is designed to pull any potential we may have to resist the incoming changes. Leo, you are no exception. Back peddle a bit and see what you might be adamant about keeping in place that seems to have outlived its usefulness. As a fixed sign, this will certainly be a challenge for you since tenacity is one of your cornerstones. This will also be a test for your humility.

This is also a great opportunity to assess your relationships with your significant other and both of your traditional families. They too are encountering changes but most especially in how they deal with you and how you deal with them. Since Leo naturally assumes others will behave in an expected way, a great question to ask others is what do they need from you? You may also ask yourself what you expect from them but haven’t told them? This will keep everyone above board.

Everyone else doesn’t follow your values Leo, even if you believe in your heart that the way you think and have been taught are the way things should go. To expect this of others without telling them is emotional suicide. You must speak up for both perspectives. This will “grease” the changes that are coming in for everyone, including you, so all of them can slip into place more easily. 

At this time it is imperative that you assess the resources that you have now at your disposal. This will tell you what skills and assets that you have to apply to the new changes. It will also refine how you identify yourself relative to the outside world. You are about to go through a metamorphosis in how you approach your life path. Keep your eyes open, keep your pace steady but be constantly vigilant as to which situations that you encounter will require new and different approaches.

August 2026 Astrolights

The primary foci of the month are the solar eclipse in Leo on the 12^th and the lunar eclipse in Pisces on the 28^th. They will primarily focus on humility and authority and how they are used and addressed…or not. In one of the combinations of Leo and Pisces we can look at our own childhood as it relates to how we are raising our children. Are we honest with them? Are we being fair? Are we allowing them to fully express themselves before we tell them how to be and what to do? Or do we cut them off before they are finished? Many of us were raised by parents who used the phrase “because I said so” when we questioned the reasoning behind much of the discipline that we received from them. How did we feel when we received that response? Today’s children are a bit different as a result of being programmed by their media devices. They’ve been trained to believe that others should justify themselves before they follow anything. This expectation has also expanded to we, their parents. As a result, many of us “old school” parents view them as acting entitled. Part of their response is the result of us being more permissive, but a larger portion is due to social indoctrination.  

There is a very thin line between being a parent and being our child’s friend. We must be very astute and recognize which “persona” will be appropriate for each situation. This means we can’t split our attention when we deal with them. Honesty will help us accomplish that. If you are busy, make it clear when it would be a better time to discuss issues that might be more important. Then, make sure you keep your promise when the time comes to meet. With Saturn and Neptune in Aries, we can expect today’s children to question our authority even though we may not have questioned our parents. They are a lot more socially savvy than we have ever been. Access to the internet has been a blessing and curse simultaneously.

The combination of Gemini and Leo almost always brings the ability for people to become an actor or actress. With Mars and Uranus in Gemini and Jupiter and the Sun in Leo opposing Pluto in Aquarius, the opportunity to use drama for personal gain is at a zenith. In a negative sense, this can bring frantic drama even to lives of people who have been traditionally very grounded. Culturally, this has and still is feeding victimhood with a powerful tool for instilling guilt in others to accomplish personal dominance. In the event we find ourselves being accused of selfishness or insensitivity through this kind of drama, pull back, be quiet and listen behind what is being said. Most likely, the person having the “hissy fit” will want something of you that you’re not willing to do or give. Ask yourself, is what they want of me healthy or good for me? If not, you know what to do and how to respond to protect yourself from being abused. If it is good for you, then go for it. The point is, the action must benefit you…
