This month brings the end of a cycle for you. Allowing the new cycle to take precedence only works if you choose carefully when to act and when to allow things to take their own course. This will require you to de-emphasize your own need for control while you listen for the feelings behind the words of others. Empathy is a very hard thing for Leo to get a handle on since you are so invested in how others react to you.

One of the most recent pieces of wisdom that you must consider now is how the tradition you are connected to has contributed to your general outlook on life. The older you are, the easier this will be. And learning to be a Leo you are also coming to grips with how “the rules” have had an impact on your life. Some of you focus on keeping them. Some of you focus on breaking them and others are not yet even aware that there are rules let alone that you are expected to follow them. This carries over where, just because you might follow them, you assume that others will also. Nothing could be further from the truth. You will know people only by what they do not what they say or you assume that they will do.

Details are very important to you now. Just because some facts may have proven out, it doesn’t mean others are aware of them. This means that agreement from others may not be forthcoming where facts or history are involved. You must trust your own heart to know what is true or usable. Leos are generally more likely to trust what others say than to trust their own intuition or preferences since they expect others to be honest if they are.

Lastly, you must learn to act on your own behalf. Just because others have said that they would be there for you doesn’t mean that it will become a reality. Many people have good intentions toward you but when push comes to shove, and their own independence depends on what they do, you may not be on the receiving end of what’s best for you. Be independent in making life decisions. First, depend you yourself and your own resources, and then consider others and the influence of others.

AUGUST 2025 ASTROLIGHTS

With Uranus having moved into Gemini last month, we already know the havoc that he can create with our communications. Mercury still being retrograde in Leo doesn’t help any. On the 6th Mars moves into Libra and then moves into its southern declination on the 8th. A lot of past relationship issues will now surface and need to be dealt with. With Saturn and Neptune recently ingressing into Aries, this is bringing out many issues concerning dependency and independence. It would be prudent for us to understand who should be responsible for what and by whom it should be taken care of.

On the 11th Mercury turns direct in Leo with the Sun and trines into Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Parental priorities should be clearly laid out and flow easily. Additionally, the issue of responsibility with and for children should be discussed in detail. Uranus’ ingress into Gemini may have made some of the contingencies unclear. Make sure you’re working as a team (Mars in Libra).  With Venus and Jupiter in Cancer in the fourth house, family values should be easy to focus on as long as both parents have traditional nurturance in their priorities.

On the 22nd the Sun moves into Virgo and on the 23rd the Moon becomes new in Virgo on the sixth. This makes health and the assessing of our daily and family routines our main focus for the month. Since these positions inconjunct Saturn and Neptune in Aries, there may be a bit of confusion as to how to integrate our independent action with health and service needs to ourselves and others. This further is complicated by the square posed by Uranus in Gemini to the Sun and new Moon in Virgo. There may appear too many options from the Gemini side to choose from with any kind of clarity. We will likely be drowning in information and must use the intuitive quality behind Uranus to listen to what our heart says is best in spite of outside forces threatening to usurp our autonomy and independence.

By the time Venus moves into Leo on the 25th (opposing Pluto), we should have made clean choices for our child rearing practices that align with our higher values and that circumvents the confusion that currently permeates the world around us. With Pluto’s position in Aquarius, his opposition makes it quite clear who and what we are dealing with in this new century and reminds us that nothing has changed. Only the names have changed but not the process itself. History is always a great and invaluable teacher.
