Astrolights

To recap; Pluto has just moved into Capricorn, technically, on November 27th but the shift has been developing over the past two years. His ingress was last felt in 1776 (American Revolution), 1517 (Protestant Reformation) and 1215 (the signing of the Magna Carta). This is a tremendous time of shifting focus for not only for us but for the world. This will bring new emphasis to education, religion, spirituality, law and other cultures, cuisines and philosophies.

We all can see what’s happing in the world and why (provided you seek information on more than just corporate media). But how does this relate to us personally?

Capricorn relates not only to government but to our career. But what is a career? It is a calling or an inward urge to accomplish something more than on just a personal or selfish level. Capricorn is also the sign of sacrifice. So, we must all ask ourselves what we must sacrifice to become how we envision ourselves. This is extremely difficult in these times since the way Pluto operates is, not to directly change the outward appearances of things but, to “pull the rug out from under us” so we’re left hanging with an urgent need to adjust our stance so we don’t fall on our head. So if you feel like your foundation has been slipping away under your feet like beach sand you’re not alone. What worked before will not work now no matter how it is repackaged. This is mirrored in our political system. What will make us feel valuable now is to feel creative. But how can we be creative in our fast changing world? Corporate does not allow creativity and wants all of us “duckers” quacking and marching in an organized and controlled row. Small business is all but a memory crushed by the corporate foot. Bi-partisan politics is a mirror of how we relate to our neighbors; black, white, red, yellow, you get the idea. It leads to war and competition of all kinds. But I digress. Back to Pluto. What will he do for/to us in our individual worlds? Our image of the American dream must shift. We can’t have it all. There are not enough resources to do so. We are not better than anyone else. We must involve ourselves in the law making process so we may share what we have and create a new language for that sharing. World communication has surpassed our need for cultural identity. We are one world with one problem; survival. How do we do this peacefully? We must rekindle craftsmanship. We must uncommercialize art, music and the humanities so we may regain our humanity. THERE will be our self respect.

On New Year’s Eve Saturn will turn retrograde in Virgo; the sign of service. No matter who you are, everyone must serve someone. Why not each other? Europe works on socialized medicine. Our system is failing miserably. The AMA, the FDA and the insurance companies have taken way too much for us to be able to afford to participate. Can we take a hint? Are we too proud to follow a good example?

In 1517 Martin Luther posted a list of grievances on the doors of Wittenburg exposing the church’s selling favors. Let me see…do we still have separation of church and state?
